The new 12” connection will supply natural gas to an industrial complex, supporting the development of local industrial infrastructure and providing the gas connection required for its operations.
The project was executed using hot tapping equipment entirely designed and manufactured by Propipe in Spain. A Propipe specialist travelled from Madrid to Libya to provide technical supervision and field support throughout the operation, working alongside the SGGP team to ensure the safe and successful completion of the hot tap.
Performing specialized pipeline intervention work in Libya requires strong technical capabilities, careful planning and close cooperation with experienced local partners. The successful execution of this project demonstrates the strength of the long-standing collaboration between Propipe and SGGP and their ability to carry out critical pipeline operations under demanding conditions.
For Propipe, this project represents more than another successful hot tap operation. Maintaining an active presence in markets such as Libya is part of the company’s commitment to supporting the development and modernization of essential energy infrastructure.
By combining Propipe’s engineering expertise, Spanish-manufactured hot tapping technology and international field experience with SGGP’s local knowledge and operational capabilities, both companies continue to contribute to projects that help expand Libya’s gas infrastructure and support the country’s industrial development.
Another successful international operation completed with Propipe technology — engineered and manufactured in Madrid and deployed in the field wherever critical pipeline infrastructure requires it.
